This website is a culmination of my two week trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. It is intended as a vacation scrapbook, as well as an educational view of the Galapagos Islands and the unusual wildlife that is endemic to the area.

I was invited to join my mother and her friends on this once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would never have thought to take on my own. This trip was more strenuous than all of us expected. It is not for the casual sightseer. The hiking was rigorous, the heat was intense, and the days were long, but the vistas were breathtaking and worth it. We saw wildlife that we will never see anywhere else. Opportunities abound for snorkeling and viewing colorful underwater species.

A good pair of all-terrain shoes, a wide brimmed hat, and SPF 40 sunscreen are a must.

In the following pages, I have included pictures and information from our week-long cruise tour. The resources page at the end gives links and titles for further research.
